The metropolitan area of Jacksonville, North Carolina, has grown and thrived over the years due to the proximity of MCB Camp Lejeune. A large portion of the residents of Jacksonville and its surrounding communities are active military and military retirees tempered by years of small town living. One of the communities in the Jacksonville area is Hubert, North Carolina. Hubert is an unincorporated community located along the Intracoastal Waterway, and is crisscrossed by a number of small waterways and wetlands. Hubert has experienced a good deal of growth from the nearness of a highway entry gate into MCB Camp Lejeune.

Benefits of Hubert

Because Hubert is unincorporated yet also a thriving community, residents can experience many of the same pleasures and benefits without the drawbacks. For example, Hubert has a post office, two volunteer fire departments, and is patrolled by the local sheriff, but citizens do not have to pay a city tax. Furthermore, the nearby entrance to the base is perfect for short commutes and easy day trips onto MCB Camp Lejeune.

The other major benefit to Hubert Real Estate is avoiding Jacksonville traffic. Government employees working on the base can avoid traffic within the city to get to their workplaces, and homeowners rarely have to deal with Jacksonville traffic for their shopping or restaurant needs. Swansboro is right next door and offers almost as many retail options as Jacksonville. In fact, most of Hubert's residents do their shopping and eating out in Swansboro.

Hubert Weather and Activities

The weather in Hubert is typical for a North Carolina coastal town, getting hot during the summer and occasionally dipping below freezing during the winters. The warm air off the ocean and the plethora of waterways tend to keep the temperature more mild than in central or western North Carolina. The climate and environment lend themselves to sportsman's interests, and hunting and fishing are both popular activities in Hubert and around MCB Camp Lejeune. Hubert is home to the largest North Carolina boat ramp, off of Red Barn Road and flanked by the Red Barn restaurant. It's the perfect spot if you want to catch a quick meal before heading out on the water.

Hubert NC  Military Relocation

Because of its quick access to Camp Lejeune and its many benefits, Hubert has become a popular place to rent and buy housing for military and their families. New homes are constantly being built to accommodate people interested in moving to the community. To find Hubert Real Estate for sale and make a housing decision, contact Coldwell Banker Fountain.
